Steven Boutte, 53, of Burlington, was convicted in December for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, criminal attempt to commit statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and related counts, said the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.
Investigators said Boutte began a conversation with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl on a dating app in December 2022. He engaged in a "very sexually explicit conversation" even after the victim made it clear she was a middle school student, according to police.
Authorities said Boutte arranged to meet with the victim in a Bensalem parking lot on Dec. 13, 2022, and then again on Dec. 16 after the first meeting was canceled. He texted the victim in between the meeting and when he showed up on Dec. 16, the back seat of his station wagon was folded down, police said.
On Wednesday, Jan. 24, Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey L. Finley sentenced Boutte to six to 12 years, the DA's Office said.
Bensalem Township Police Department investigated the case with assistance from the FBI and state officials, prosecutors added.
